2008 Voyager Estate Chardonnay

This Chardonnay was 100% barrel fermented in French oak and then aged for 9 months. 40% of the oak was new. Brilliant straw colour with slight greenish tinge around the edges and watery hue. The nose shows good lift with scents of white peach, honeycomb, cashew, nougat and spice. Medium to full bodied the palate delivers mouthfilling flavours of honeyed white peach and some light butterscotch followed by some nougat, cashew and spice. Creamy like mouthfeel with clean dry finish. Long aftertaste of white peach, honeycomb, cashew and spicy nougat.
Drink over the next 3-4 years (2012-2016).
