Springs Hill Vineyard was established in Blewitt Springs in 1975 by the Whaite family when the first plantings of Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz were put in,since then Merlot, Mourvedre and Grenache have been added. The vines are grown without irrigation in an area renowned for its ability to sustain vines on rainfall alone. Fruit from the Shiraz vineyard is often used in Wirra Wirra's RSW Shiraz and it is also sold to several other top notch producers.

Matured in a combination of older American and French oak for 20 months. Totally opaque black dark red colour with deep very dark red hue. Nosing reveals perfumed top notes of liquorice and ripe blackberry followed by some black cherry, vanillin oak and spice. Rich and full the palate possesses succulent liquorice, blackberry and dark chocolate flavours followed by some vanillin oak and spice. Supplely textured with velvet smooth tannins. Excellent length and long liquorice, black cherry, vanillin oak and spice aftertaste.
