2008 Penfolds Bin 407 Cabernet Sauvignon

Inspired by Penfolds Bin 707 but made in a more approachable style the 2008 Bin 407 was matured for 13 months in a combination of 22% new French oak and 13% new American oak with the balance being in seasoned American oak barrels.

Opaque black crimson colour with black crimson hue. Aromas of blackcurrant, chocolate mint, cedar and spice. Full bodied the palate is loaded with ripe blackcurrant and cassis fruit followed by a touch of liquorice and some spicy cedar on the back palate. Very fine grained well integrated tannin structure. Excellent length with long ripe blackcurrant and spicy cedar aftertaste. A generous fully ripened Bin 407.
