The Moët & Chandon Grand Vintage Blanc 2008 is an assemblage of 40% Chardonnay, 37% Pinot Noir and 23% Pinot Meunier. Excellent frothy white mousse that shows good hold sitting over a pale straw/pale gold coloured base wine. The bead is extremely fine and very profuse. On the nose roasted almond and yeasty scents are intermixed with toasty citrus, brioche and cashew. Richer and fuller than the 2008 Veuve Clicquot Vintage the palate sports a flavoursome profile of baked bread and yeast lees intermeshed with fresh citrus fruits over some cashew and subtle toasty characters. Vibrant finish with a creamy yet very refined mouthfeel. The long aftertaste a combination of baked bread, yeast lees, citrus, cashew and a light toastiness.
Cellar 5-8 years.
Alc 12.5%

Other Reviews....
Sleek, with a smoky underpinning and a lively, detailed bead, this firm version offers flavors of black currant, toast, lemon curd and honey. Lingering finish. Drink now through 2030.
