At the recent Tri Nations Challenge this wine was awarded 'Wine of Show", "Red Wine of Show" and the Trophy for the best Pinot Noir. This is a great accolade considering the calibre of the competition including Ata Rangi, By Farr ‘Sangreal’, Main ridge ‘ Half Acre’, Jackson Estate & Neudorf ‘ Moutere’.
Semi translucent deep dark crimson mauve colour with crimson mauve hue. Perfumed aromas of dark cherries, anise and cedar with a touch of spice as an end note. Light to medium weight with a velvet like texture the palate displays flavours of ripe dark cherries, plum and spice with some cedar and anise notes on the back palate. Excellent power wave. Very fine grained tannins with long aftertaste of dark cherries, plum and spice.
Drink over the next 3-4 years (2010-2014).
Alc 13.5%
