2008 Cloudy Bay Pelorus Vintage

Produced from a blend of 66% Pinot Noir and 34% Chardonnay the Pelorus vintage spends just over four years being aged on lees in bottle prior to being disgorged. Excellent white frothy mousse that shows very good hold followed by a very pale gold base wine colour. Very fine bead showing excellent persistence. The nose is aromatically richer than the non vintage Pelorus delivering pronounced baked bread, cashew and yeast lees scents over some toastiness and light citrus. Generous and full the palate features a rich flavour profile of yeast lees, almond and brioche that provide the wine with a sense of creaminess followed by some toastiness in the background. Dry crisp finish with a long aftertaste of toast, brioche, yeast lees and almond.
