Wine writers the world over have raved about the quality and intensity of the 2006 Leeuwin Art Series Chardonnay (rated 99 points), many of whom seriously considered 'Australia's greatest ever white wine'. It seemed a tall order to repeat the performance, however, if there would ever be a Margaret River vintage to do it in, it would have to be the benchmark 2007. Give this years release some time. 2007 has resulted in a more youthful Art Series that will continue to build complexity.

This wine is again a world class result, and in time is destined to reach the same stratospheric heights as its predecessor.

Brilliant pale straw colour with a very slight greenish tinge around the edges and very pale straw hue. The nose displays fabulous intensity delivering a complex aromatic profile of delicate white peach, biscuit, cashew, nougat and spice. The palate possesses a creamy texture with concentrated flavours of fig, cashew, white peach, spice, biscuit and cinnamon all seamlessly meshed together. Excellent acid structure with long aftertaste of cashew, spice, white peach and cinnamon.
Cellar 4-6 years (2014-2016)
Alc 14.5% Stelvin

Other Reviews....
Pale, bright straw-green; fragrant grapefruit, melon and white peach aromas, the oak subtle and integrated, are followed by an exceptionally intense and long palate, the alcohol lost in the sea of flavour.
Drink to 2022 , Screwcap, 14.5% alc.
