2006 Schild Estate Ben Schild Reserve Shiraz

The wine has been matured in a combination of American and Hungarian oak for 17 months. Totally opaque, black dark red colour with deep, dark red hue. Perfumed aromas of dark chocolate and liquorice followed by some spice and vanillin, mocha, toast like characters. Full bodied palate displaying very rich and opulent flavours of dark chocolate, very ripe blackberry and liquorice followed by some spice and a toasty vanillin oak overlay that persists onto the finish. Fine grained tannins with medium to long aftertaste of dark chocolate, liquorice, spice and toasty oak.
