2006 Cullen Margaret River Red

This wine is composed of a blend of 58% Cabernet Sauvignon, 36% Merlot, 3% Malbec and 3% Petit Verdot.
Very deep crimson colour with deep crimson mauve hue. The nose displays an impressive sniff, with cedar, cassis and cigar box top notes, followed by blackcurrant and a hint of tea leaf. The wine falls down on the palate, which is dominated by very dry, very chalky tannins, which override the fruit. There is a hint of tea leaf in the background. The aftertaste is dominated by very dry persistent tannins.
