Winemaker John Innes has produced an excellent example of Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon. 2004 was an outstanding vintage in Coonawarra, Rymill considers its Cabernet fruit to be the best it has produced since the 1998 vintage. The wine was matured in a combination of new and one year old French oak for around 24 months.

Almost opaque black crimson colour with black crimson hue. Top note of violets followed by blackcurrant, spice and cedar, delivering a classic Cabernet sniff. The palate structure is tight knit. Flavours of plum, cherry and blackcurrant emerge, followed by dry chalky tannins. Aftertaste of cedar, plum and blackcurrant. The wine needs time to fill out.
