Semi-translucent crimson colour with crimson mauve hue.  Lightly perfumed nose of violets and spice followed by a raspberry end note.  The palate has excellent mouthfeel - much better than expected given the lighter colour.  Flavours of spice and raspberry jam are evident followed by some smoky oak and plum flavours.  Soft tannins.  Long raspberry, spice and plum aftertaste.
Cellar 4-5 years (2010-2011)
Alc/Vol: 14.5%

Robert Parkers Review:
The 2004 Grenache Old Vines Clarendon Hills exhibits intense aromatics of raspberries, cherries, garrigue, and licorice. A tasty, attractive, medium to full-bodied, fragrant effort, it is the most evolved of the Grenache offerings. Interestingly, it comes from a south-facing, cool site, with abundant clay and few rocks in the soil. It should drink well for 7-8 years.
