2003 Metier Shiraz Viognier

Opaque dark red colour with deep dark brick red hue. The nose is quite perfumed with dark plum and liquorice scents intermixed with some emerging leather notes and a touch of fennel as an end note. Medium weight the palate shows flavours of dark plum and aniseed along with a touch of leather and some spice on the back palate. Soft supple texture with velvet smooth tannins. The palate is beginning to dry out a touch. Aftertaste of aniseed, toasty oak, leather and spice.
