2001 Yarra Ridge Merlot

Over the past two decades, Yarra Ridge has emerged as a Yarra Valley icon, producing exceptional wines. The dry 2001 growing season was one of the warmest on record and was followed by a vintage punctuated by brief wet spells, perfect for developing excellent flavour and character in the fruit. The fruit produced was meaty and rich with varietal fruit characters shining through. The selection of various Yarra Valley vineyard parcels ensured the highest quality fruit was used to produce the wine.

Tasting Note: The 2001 Yarra Ridge Merlot is a soft purple red in the glass. The floral and cherry aromas present on the nose develop into a soft supple palate with blackberry and mulberry jam fruit flavours.
