This is Rob Bowen’s piece de resistance. Totally black crimson colour. Superb aroma of prune, spice, blackpepper and mocca. The palate is mouthfilling with powerful flavours of prune, dark chocolate, coffee and blackpepper with just a hint of tarriness emerging. This is a classic Australian fruit bomb of a wine offering the drinker a big dunk of palate flavour. Fine grained tannins followed by a very strong blackpepper, spice aftertaste.

Retasted April 2003
This is the flagship wine of Willow Bridge, and it’s a big wine as the name implies. Somewhere in the Australian language, the term ‘black as dogs guts’ finds its place, which we guess refers to a concentrated character.

Opaque, black purple colour, with paint like cling to the sides of the glass. Superb nose of vanilla, spice violets blackberry and cedar. The palate weight is monumental and befits the description. Totally explosive palate – a pressings style, with an abundance of dark chocolate, plum and vanilla flavours, with prune emerging in the background. Fine, dry tannins, with very powerful blackpepper aftertaste.
