2001 Joseph Moda Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot

Joseph Grilli makes this wine by drying out the harvested grapes, thereby concentrating the fruit. The wine consists of a blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Merlot. Very deep crimson colour with deep crimson hue. Delightful perfumed nose with hints of violets, blackcurrant and ripe plum followed by a cinnamon spice end note. The palate is mouthfilling. The flavours are generous with chocolate, ripe plum, cherry ripe, blackcurrant and anise characteristics emerging. Excellent balance, velvet smooth tannins followed by a long aftertaste of white pepper, plum and blackcurrant.
