2001 Hamilton Ewell Vineyards Limestone Quarry Shiraz

A big tarry red. Opaque black crimson colour with purple hue. Very ripe fruit character on the nose. Aroma of stewed fruit, stewed plum, dark chocolate and blackberry emerges. Full bodied palate, quite heavy with the flavour of stewed fruit and liquorice dominant, followed by a tarry back palate. Firmish dry tannin followed by an aftertaste where the tarry characteristic is persistent, with plum and stewed fruit persisting.
