Tasting notes sourced from Mildara Blass

Wolf Blass is one of Australia’s most awarded premium wine makers and one of the country’s most successful exporters. Since the first release in 1973, Wolf Blass wines have amassed more than 3000 medals and trophies at national and international wine shows.
The fruit for this wine was sourced from company vineyards and from those of selected growers within the premier viticultural regions in South Australia. The 1999 vintage provided fruit of maximum ripeness and flavour concentration.
Traditional fermentation and cap management techniques were employed to ensure maximum colour and flavour extraction. The wine completed fermentation in new French and American oak barrels. It also spent up to 12 months maturation in the same barrels.
The Wolf Blass red wines are distinctive for their ripe fruit flavours and careful oak maturation. This wine is deep in colour with equally concentrated plum and berry flavours. On the palate there are subtle mint and licorice flavours. With soft ripe, well-rounded fruit flavours and complementary oak derived characters this wine is one of great structure and balance. Cellar up to six years. Alcohol 13.1%.
