1999 Vavasour Pinot Noir

Marlborough,
$23. 99

$287.88 Dozen
Closure: Cork

Yet another wine that re asserts the supremacy of New Zealand Pinot Noir. Medium body with impressive Pinot colour of crimson and mauve. Very distinctive varietal character on the nose, with aroma of earth, mushrooms, cherry, spice and liquorice as an end note. The palate displays excellent ripe Pinot flavours, with a peppery overtone, overriding the cherry spice and strawberry flavours. The flavour profile has much promise for the future as it builds on the palate. Warm back palate. Fine grained tannins, firmish, but in balance. Long, spicy, cherry, blackpepper aftertaste. Cellar 3-4 years.
