1999 Long Gully Estate Shiraz

An impressive cool climate Shiraz. Very deep crimson mauve colour. Rhone like nose with aroma of spice, earth, old leather and confectionary and again that animal Rhone like end note. The palate has a distinctive peppery flavour with layers of confectionary followed by a touch of iodine and old leather. Excellent length and depth. Fine grained tannins with very long aftertaste of spice, plum and blackpepper.

First Tasted: May 2003
Very deep crimson colour with deep mauve hue. The nose displays a hint of earth, followed by plum, spice and blackberry notes. The palate is firmly structured and needs time to evolve. Flavours of plum, spice and blackpepper emerge with fine dry tannins followed by a long aftertaste of plum, liquorice, mocca and blackpepper with just a hint of mint.
