1999 Howard Park Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot

This wine is a big improvement over the previous vintage. The new packaging is attractive, although traditionalists will feel betrayed by the loss of the beautiful watercolour gum tree images.

Very deep crimson colour, with crimson brick red hue. Aroma of chocolate, truffles, spice, blackcurrant and cedar. The palate reflects the excellent vintage conditions in 1999 and displays plenty of depth and length. Flavours of spice, blackcurrant and cedar, supported by fine firmish yet balanced tannins. A slightly warmish back palate, followed by an earthy end palate. Cellar 4 – 5 years.
