Notes from G&M: Aroma: Sweet vanilla fudge aromas combine with candied citrus. Dark chocolate notes surface and transform into stewed pear and roasted hazelnut. Taste: Creamy and sweet; chilli chocolate, cinnamon, and vibrant orange marmalade flavours combine with baked apple. Subtle golden sultana highlights lead into a toasted oak edge. Finish: Long and lingering with bursts of spicy chilli. 53.9% Alc./Vol.

Laying claim as one of Scotland's oldest distilleries, Glenturret offers a number of official age statement bottlings which, to our knowledge, have not yet made it to Australia. Formerly known as 'Hosh', the distillery was renamed in 1875. Closed and dismantled in the 1920s, upon Prohibition’s enactment, it remained closed until the late 1950s. The malt makes up a large component of the Famous Grouse blend, and more recently the distillery produced some batches of peated whisky for the Black Grouse. Undoubtedly a novelty - even for seasoned whisky lovers - Jim Murray described similar releases as "One for those looking for a very different dram".
