1998 Rosabrook Estate Chardonnay

A sophisticated Chardonnay. Bright pale straw colour. Excellent aromatic nose, showing the distinct influence of barrel fermentation with aromas of butterscotch, yeast lees and spicy new French oak. On the palate cashew and bitter almond flavours are dominant followed by a hint of spicy oak. Well integrated with a creamy texture, good weight and balance, followed by long aftertaste of almond, spice and aniseed. Cellar 3-5 years.
