1998 Penfolds Adelaide Hills Chardonnay

This is Yattarna's little brother, and billed as the 'spin off' from the Penfolds ambition to create a 'White Grange'.Bright straw colour. The nose is filled with the complex aromas, produced by barrel fermentation. Butterscotch, honey, peach and melon are well integrated with notes of cashew and yeast lees. On the palate the yeast lees, biscuit, cashew, fig and grapefruit flavours are most evident. Long and persistent. Excellent balance with good acid levels and a very long pear, biscuit, citrus, yeast lees aftertaste. Cellar 4-5 years.
