1998 McLarens on the Lake Cabernet Shiraz

Medium weight crimson brick red colour. Spicy cinnamon nose with a hint of cloves and vanilla. The palate is relatively short with stewed fruit cinnamon flavours followed by a touch of liquorice and firmish, dusty tannins, finishing with cinnamon, spice and stewed fruit aftertaste. Cellar 2-3 years.

RETASTED 16/04/1999: Medium weight with vibrant crimson mauve purple colour. A perfect expression of its youthfulness. Lifted nose displaying inky, spicy, freshly crushed blackberry aromas with a liquorice end note. The palate is filled with plummy blackberry and liquorice flavours, soft ripe fruit is followed by soft tannins and a long fruity ink spice aftertaste. Great short term drinking.
