1998 Maiden Gully Shiraz Cabernet

The new owners of Balgownie have redesigned the second label and improved the quality of the wine.Medium body, crimson colour with mauve edges. Appealing nose of spice, blackcurrant, vanilla and liquorice allsorts. There is much better quality fruit flavour in the palate than has been previously evident. Flavours of plum, spice and blackcurrant are evident, and supported by fine grained, firmish tannins, however, with very good balance. Long aftertaste of blackcurrant, spice and vanilla. Cellar 4-5 years.
