1998 Blewitt Springs Shiraz

A delightful youthful Shiraz. Vibrant crimson mauve colour, just joyous in its youthful vitality and carried through onto the nose and palate. Lifted spice and blackpepper nose with a truffle note on the end. Spicy peppery palate with distinct vanillin oak. Impressive concentration and length with flavours of ripe plums emerging and followed by a long lingering spicy pepper cinnamon aftertaste. Cellar 2-3 years.

A very well made wine with plenty of weight and flavour, but lacking palate length. Deep crimson colour. Aroma of liquorice, spice, ripe plum and toasted oak with a leather earth end note. On the palate generous ripe plum flavours dominate, followed by liquorice overtones but without palate length. Fine grained tannin structure with plum, spice, mixed berries, tar and farmyard leather aftertaste. Cellar 3-5 years.
