Bladnoch is Scotland’s most southerly distillery, nestled on the green banks of the River Bladnoch, from which it takes its name. Located in this beautifully remote area, the distillery has been producing since 1817. It employs mainly unpeated malt from independent maltsters, though very occasionally will use medium peated malt (18ppm phenols), usually once a year.

This release from reputable independent bottler Gordon & MacPhail was distilled in 1993.

Other reviews... n22.5 big oak, but buttery and floral enough to command a balance; t21.5 quietly spoken barley offers a decisive intensity to counter the drier oak; f22.5 surprisingly long, revealing the soft oiliness hinted at elsewhere is very real. A late chewiness offers excellent sweet-dry interplay; b22 one of those drams which on the oaky face of it shouldn’t work…but deliciously it does. 43% 88.5 points - Jim Murray's Whisky Bible 2013
