An exceptional start to the 1990's decade, and heralds a new beginning, in that the wine is now increasingly being made in the vineyard rather than in the winery. Deep crimson colour. Magnificent nose of sweet plums, blackberries, vanilla and spice. Outstanding palate flavours, rich ripe blackberry plum fruit flavours. Superb balance, with velvet smooth tannins, deceptively soft followed by a very long aftertaste.

RETASTED FROM MAGNUM: Deep crimson colour. Superb, lifted nose, with aromas of spice, liquorice, blackberry and vanilla. The palate displays flavours of chocolate and spice with liquorice overtones – very long and concentrated, with just a touch of earthiness. Fine grained tannins, long finish with spice and a touch of aniseed on the aftertaste. Cellar 10-12 years.
