1988 Yalumba Signature Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon Shiraz

The 1988 Yalumba Signature was named after Colin Gehardy. Deep brick red colour, already showing considerable bottle development. Aroma of leather and stewed fruit, followed by very strong vegetal end notes. This is the result of Cabernet Sauvignon which has not fully ripened, the vegetal character whilst faintly noticeable in wine’s early years, actually accentuates with time. On the palate the fruit is fading, stewed fruit, leather and earth flavours emerge with the vegetal character still very evident. Fine, firmish dry tannins, over a long spicy vegetal aftertaste.
