2021 Maxwell Ellen Street Shiraz

From vines planted in 1953 with maturation taking place in a mix of French and American oak (approximately 25% new) for a period of 18 months. Dense pitch black heart with a deep dark red black tinged hue. Lush ripe blackberry, dark plum and liquorice aromas sail from the glass complimented by vanillin oak, dark chocolate and peppered fennel notes. Rich opulent dark plum, blackberry and liquorice fruits carry ample body weight and flesh over a spicy vanillin oak, dark chocolate and fennel back drop. Velvet smooth tannins with bright purple fruited like acidity. Concludes long and succulent.
