2018 Scorpo Pinot Gris

Scorpo’s Pinot Gris is 100% whole bunch-pressed with most of the must going straight into old barriques with 100% solids for natural-yeast fermentation. A portion was fermented in concrete tank. The wine is left on lees for approximately 11 months.
Brilliant pale straw colour with greenish tinged edges and a watery hue. Pronounced ripe pear and dried honey aromas fill the nostrils with some baked apple, citrus and musk also evident. Rich and full, lusciously textured flavours of ripe pear, Jonathan apple and dried honey flood the mouth. Also evident are subtle musk and ginger spice characters. Excellent concentration and drive finishing with a resounding freshness and a long viscous aftertaste.
Drink over the next 1-2 years.

Floral, honey, pear, apple. Juicy green apple and grapefruit kicks some zip into the palate, weighty yet fresh, texture is all chalky, the finish clean and long with a ginger and more savoury aftertaste. Such balance. Full-flavour delivered assuredly. Drink 2021-2023+
