Matured in French oak barriques. Dense pitch black heart with a deep dark red black tinged hue. Intense ripe blackcurrant, liquorice and dark chocolate aromas fill the nostrils with vanillin oak, earth and mint notes also evident. Rich blackcurrant, plum and liquorice fruits are layered across the palate and underpinned by earth, vanillin oak and mint. Fleshy feel with ripe chewy tannins firming up the back half. The generous earthy finish has an underlying sturdiness.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
Alc. 14.5%

Other Reviews….
Matured 20 months in French oak, then 2 years bottle ageing to bring out the best in classical Langhorne Creek cabernet. The nose convinces that it is on the mark, cassis and blackberries, with a regional earthiness and the faintest of palate-edging cabernet bitterness in the tannins. Old-school, big cabernet love here. Drink by 2030.
