That Boutique-y Whisky Company Deanston Batch 1 Cask Strength Single Malt Scotch Whisky (500ml)

That Boutique-y Whisky Company is a new generation bottler of single malt Scotch whisky, single grains, blended malts and blends, launched by UK-based fine spirits producer and retailer, Master of Malt.

These folks hand select spirit from legendary distilleries and bottle it in extremely small batches. Each whisky comes adorned with an eye-catching, if quirky, comic book-style label featuring the great and the good from the whisky industry, as well as some rather good hidden jokes. Bottles are also individually numbered.

The single malts in the range come without age statements. Cask regime is also not disclosed. The company declares that each batch depends entirely on the quality of, and how much whisky is received, and in some cases the whiskies in the bottle can vary in age by as much as thirty years. Outturn for each respective batch is anything between 200 - 800 bottles.

The label for this highly unusual natural strength Deanston edition of only 218 bottles features an illustration of the conversion of the distillery from a cotton mill. This all took place during the 1960s, and thus there is a pair of hippies witnessing the arrival of a copper pot still. 50.8% Alc./Vol.
