$23. 99
Bottle
$287.88 Dozen
Cellar: 3 - 4 Years (2017-2018)
ABV: 13.5%
Closure: Stelvin

The fruit for the 2013 Stonier Chardonnay was sourced from several vineyards centred near Merricks, Balnarring and Merricks North, most possessing vines in excess of 15 years old. Fermentation was predominately in French oak barriques and puncheons (10% new) with just over 10% fermented in tank and approximately 40% was allowed to undergo the acid-softening malo-lactic fermentation.

Brilliant pale straw colour with a greenish tinge around the edges and a watery hue. Showing excellent intensity the nose displays lifted ripe peach characters intermixed with cashew and honeycomb followed by some light nougat and spice. Soft creamy palate texture with generous flavours of white peach, cashew, nougat, dried honey and a touch of spice. Clean dry finish with soft acidity. Medium to long aftertaste of cashew, nougat, dried honey and spice.
Drink over the next 3-4 years.
Alc. 13.5%

Other Reviews….
From 4 vineyards; 80% whole bunch-pressed, fermented in large format French oak (10%); 40% mlf; 10% in stainless steel until blended. Mike Symons has pressed all the right buttons at all the right times; the wine is as fresh as a sea breeze, but has presence and length aplenty, the overall message relaxed elegance; Burgundy Corton is a match. Drink by 2023.
