2013 Ryder Shiraz

Ryder is Reilly’s entry level brand that aims to deliver great value everyday drinking. Both the Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon are sourced from Reilly’s St. Clare vineyard located at Leasingham which was planted in 2000.

Matured in French and American oak for 15 months. The wine displays impressive colour and depth for such a modestly priced wine with a totally opaque inky black core and a dark purple black hue. The nose displays fresh blackberry and liquorice aromas followed by some vanillin oak and confectionary. Rich, ripe and joosy the palate possesses a soft plush texture with generous flavours of blackberries and liquorice over some spicy toasty vanillin oak and pepper. Velvet smooth tannins finishing with an unexpectedly long aftertaste of blackberry, liquorice, spicy toasted vanillin oak and pepper.
Drink over the next 3-4 years.
