Opaque black dark red colour with a deep bright dark red hue. The nose shows very good lift with aromas or ripe blackberries and aniseed followed by some smoky oak and spice. Rich with a generous rounded mouthfeel the palate features flavours of ripe blackberries and liquorice intermixed with toasty oak followed by vanillin confectionary and spice. Velvet smooth tannins. Medium to long aftertaste of blackberries, liquorice and spicy smoky oak. Some may find the toasty oak component a little too strong for their liking.
