2012 Mt. Monster Shiraz

From a textbook vintage The Bryson family aided by the winemaking talents of Ben Riggs have produced a rich full flavoured Shiraz that recently took out the Best Value Red Wine Trophy at the Sydney International Wine Competition.

Opaque black dark red colour with very dark red black tinged hue. Distinctive aniseed and choc mint top notes open the account on the nose followed by some toasty oak, vanillin confectionary and spice. The palate boasts fabulous concentration and richness for its meagre price featuring a succulent opulently textured core of fruit with liquorice, blackberry and choc mint flavours followed by some spicy vanillin oak. Slightly dryish finish with velvet smooth tannins and a long liquorice, blackberry, spicy choc mint and vanillin oak aftertaste.
