2010 d'Arenberg The Dead Arm Shiraz

Superb colour displaying an inky black dark purple core with a deep dark purple hue. Perfumed scents of liquorice and ripe blackberries meld into some dark chocolate notes followed by some vanillin cedar, a faint whiff of mocha and spice. Full bodied, muscular and rich the palate features opulent flavours of ripe blackberries, liquorice and bitter dark chocolate with back palate flavours of vanillin cedar, earth and spice. Firm, solidly built tannins counterpoint the richness of fruit and provide excellent structure along with some grip on the finish. Excellent depth with a long aftertaste of ripe blackberries, liquorice, earthy cedar and spice.
