2010 Atze's Corner Eddies Old Vine Shiraz

The Eddies Old Vine Shiraz is sourced from 103 and 64 year old vines originally planted by Eddie Staehr and Eddie Leibich with total production being only 130 cases. The wine is matured for 22 months in 25% new and 25% old French and 25% new and 25% old American Oak Hogshead barrels.

Rich, Round, Seductive & Powerful

Superb totally opaque inky black colour with a very deep dark red black hue. Scented aromas of liquorice, dark plum and fennel bound from the glass followed by subtle blackberry, smoky vanillin cedar and spice. Full bodied, densely textured and richly concentrated the palate delivers flavours of liquorice, dark plum and ripe blackberries with a dark chocolate overlay and following nuances of smoky vanillin oak and spice. Round opulent texture with a silky smooth polished tannin structure. Outstanding power and depth with a very long conclusion of ripe dark plum, liquorice, blackberry, dark chocolate and spicy vanillin oak.
