Opaque black crimson colour with black crimson hue. The nose is again quite restrained revealing aromas of dark ripe plum, liquorice allsorts, confectionary and spice – a little subdued. The palate shows more upfront generosity than the Moritz with flavours of dark plum, liquorice and confectionary followed by some spice and blackpepper characters persisting on the back palate. Fine grained dryish tannins with very long liquorice, blackpepper and spice aftertaste. This is a more restrained structured version of Liandra in comparison to some of the previous opulently styled vintages such as the 2006. The pepper and spice characters in particular being more prevalent in the 2007 vintage.
Cellar 5-6 years (2014-2015)
14.5% Alc

Other Reviews….
The 2007 Syrah Liandra is a bit more reticent aromatically. On the palate it has plenty of sweet black and blue fruit, pepper, and other savory notes as well as outstanding length. It will benefit from 2-3 years of cellaring and drink well through 2019.
