2012 Hill-Smith Estate Adelaide Hills Chardonnay

Matured for up to 15 months in French barriques (50% new, 50% 1 year old). Brilliant very pale straw colour with greenish tinged edges and watery hue. The nose presents a refined sniff of cashew and biscuit with a light toasty overlay followed by some delicate white peach and subtle funky flinty match stick like notes. Medium weight with an elegant yet rich creamy mouthfeel the palate possesses a complex flavour profile of cashew and biscuit perfectly intermeshed with some delicate white peach followed by nuances of light toasty oak, hazelnut and spice. Clean dry finish with long creamy cashew, biscuit, light toast, hazelnut and spice aftertaste.
Cellar 3-4 years (2017-2018).
