This single vineyard wine was produced from a low yielding, old vine vineyard at Greenock, in the North-Western Barossa Valley planted in 1875. It's tributed to the first Kalleske to migrate to Australia, Johann Georg Kalleske, who arrived from Prussia to South Australia in 1838.

Totally opaque inky black colour with dark red black hue. The nose displays perfumed aromatics of liquorice, blackberry and plum followed by some dark chocolate, vanillin oak and a hint of spice showing excellent intensity. Super rich, yet magnificently balanced the palate delivers wave upon wave of opulently textured fruit. Ripe blackberry and dark plum flavours are dominate followed by some chocolate bullets, vanillin confectionary and spicy toasty oak. Silky smooth tannin structure in perfect symmetry with the enormous volumes of fruit. Exceptional power with very long ripe blackberry, liquorice, dark chocolate and vanillin oak aftertaste.
Cellar 8-10 years (2021-2023).
