Tomintoul remains one of the few Speyside producers to delve into proper peated styles. Matured in x-Bourbon barrels, this older version of the original 'Peaty Tang' exudes a heathery smokiness moderated by soft, sweet malt. 40% Alc./Vol.
Other reviews... Being a bit older than the original Peaty Tang, the phenols here are less forward. But then, it calls itself "the Gentle Dram' and on this evidence, with good reason. 89.5 points - Jim Murray's Whisky Bible 2020
