Tomatin 12 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

Speyside, Highlands, SCOTLAND
$89. 99
Bottle
$1079.88 Dozen
ABV: 40%

In 2003, Tomatin's basic 10 year old malt was replaced by the 12 year old. In 2009, a 15 Year was added to the line-up, which also includes an 18 year old and a 25 year old. More recently, this sherry-finished 12 Year Old was relaunched and is a noticeable improvement on the previous bottling. In fact, if you're looking for value money in Single Malt whisky, right now it doesn't get better than this: A fruity Maltfest with a splash of sherry and tang of spice.

Tasting note: Gold straw showing some minor sediment. Lovely expressiveness to the fruity / malty / cereal nose. Develops with suggestions of leafy mulch and ginger bread in later passes. Vibrant, with cracker biscuit, vanilla and chewed straw-like flavours. Finishes more delicately with hints of honeyed cereals and oatmeal trailing off in the aftertaste. Classic "everyman's malt" that will work for any occasion. 40% Alc./Vol.

Other reviews... Reverted back to a delicately sherried style, or at least shows signs of a touch of fruit....shows nothing other than good grace and no shortage of barley either.
