Tasting note: Matured in American oak Port casks. Copper topaz. Opens curiously herbal, sappy, green. Develops subtle floral notes before shifting towards dried fruits, vanilla and dark chocolate, finally reminiscent of drier styled dark rum. Entry is woody, astringent and drying; Finish releases a thread of sugars, enough to recover the balance and carry the aftertaste which is delicately tannic, warming and vaguely dried fruit like (prunes?) Better after extended air contact, so give this time to show its best. 46% Alc./Vol.
