Glenlivet Single Cask Edition Glenshee 15 Year Old Cask Strength Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

A single cask, cask strength Glenlivet matured for 15 years in a first fill ex-bourbon American Oak barrel. The name refers to the 'Spital of Glenshee', a section of an ancient smuggler's trail via which Highlanders transported containers of whisky down to the Lowlands for trade.

Tasting note: Pale gold with thick tears. Powerful aromas evocative of barley and stewed orchard fruits evolving hints of nectarine and pineapple. Expands considerably with extended air contact; deeper, richer, creamier…the fruits are laced with vanilla and cocoa; the alcohol flare retreats... Beautifully weighted with an oily, delicately bittersweet attack softened by emerging fruitiness (dried pineapple?); Pepper and spicy oak to finish before the creamy malt rallies in the aftertaste. Outstanding length. A few drops of water turns this floral soft and wonderfully textural. 239 bottles produced. Non-chill filtered. 57.6% Alc./Vol.
