The Arran Malt 12 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky

Isle of Arran Distillers is one of the few remaining independent distilleries in Scotland, based at Lochranza on the Isle of Arran which lies off the West Coast between Ayrshire and Kintyre. The company was set up by Harold Currie, who was previously Managing Director of Chivas (Seagrams) and House of Campbell (Pernod Ricard). Only traditional methods are employed with wooden washbacks and copper stills designed to exacting specification. Non chill-filtered.

Tasting Notes: Pale golden colour with water like hue. Bright, lively, fresh nose showing fresh fruits, vanilla, toffee and spice with a hint of liquorice. The palate is slightly firm, and takes on a more mature flavour profile than the nose indicates. Dried fruits, nuts and dark chocolate flavours wrapped in a generous, velvety, sherry oak influenced body run from fore to aft displaying excellent balance. A subtle hint of liquorice emerges, and mingles with the fruit and nut chocolate in the very long aftertaste. Slightly confused, but delicious nonetheless! 46.0% Alc./Vol.
