Sullivans Cove 16 Year Old (Barrel #90 bottled by Corowa Distillery) Cask Strength Single Malt Australian Whisky (700ml)

Quite possibly the first indie Sulllivan's Cove, matured in an ex-bourbon barrel with 189 bottles available worldwide. This was, at the time, one the oldest Australian whiskies to have hit the market.

Tasting note: The nose harks back to some early releases - a touch of hessian sack, pickled onion and ginger biscuit that dissipates after breathing. Five minutes draws out more attractive notes of spiced apples / pear / baking spices... kumquat jam? Lots of ginger biscuit, marzipan and trace sulphur at the mid palate stage, but slightly woody and flat to finish. Almost a classic. Will be highly collectable. 47.2% Alc./Vol.
