Smells like dilute maple syrup over banana and pancake - unusual for the genre. Silky, slightly viscous entry leads into mild, quasi-honeyed flavours of golden syrup and creme caramel with the maple syrup making a brief return at the finish. Of several whiskey based honey liqueurs to hit the shelves in recent times this is one of the more interesting examples, but not outstanding. 35% Alc./Vol.

It defies categorisation, both in ingredients as well as the final flavour with elements reminiscent of tequila, scotch, young cognac and rum. Be the first to try it! 47% Alc./Vol. Awarded a Silver medal at the 2010 San Francisco International Spirits Competition Tasting note: Deep brassy gold. Sweet spices feature with cinnamon, vanilla and manuka honey amid hints of pepper. Remains fairly subdued with no great change after several minutes in the glass, with the exception of added honey sweetness. A light entry leads into a concentrated, somewhat hollow mid palate that’s carried by the spirit warmth. Finish is more like spiced rum, with sweet spices, dilute honey and mocha notes lingering in the aftertaste. Jim Beam Honey combines real honey with the distillery's 4 year old Bourbon. The flavour is as you would expect, sweet and seductively smooth.
Other reviews... Flavoured whiskeys are all the rage in the States right now, and have been responsible for some impressive sales figures. Following on the heels of Red Stag, Jim Beam Bourbon has produced a honey-infused Bourbon, which by law must be described as a 'spirit drink.' The Beam take on whiskey and honey liqueur offers a floral nose, with coconut ice, honey, cinder toffee and developing vanilla, while the palate offers lots of not unexpected honey, along with caramel. Lingering honey in the soft, smooth finish. This works well when served 'on the rocks' or from the freezer. Rating: 3 Stars - whiskypages.comsize>

Wild Turkey American Honey Liqueur (700ml)Kentucky, UNITED STATES$44. 99Bottle$539.88 DozenABV: 35.5%The liqueur produced by the Wild Turkey Company (one of the few bourbon-based liqueurs on the market), aptly enhances the honeyed feature of Wild Turkey Bourbon resulting in a unique and delicious spirit. Pure natural honey is blended into a bourbon-based formula, which becomes a smooth cordial with a sweet, extremely mellow flavour. The Liqueur marries well with Wild Turkey Bourbon to make a Kentucky-style "Golden Nail." It also goes well with vanilla ice cream, pecan pie, or as an ingredient in a butterscotch sauce. A recommended novelty for the Bourbon enthusiast.
Tasting note: Gold appearance. Smells of Bourbon and vanilla combined with confectionary overtones (bubblegum / sherbet). Where’s the honey? Thick delivery sees vanilla, sherbet notes repeating over a creamy texture. Gently spicy, warming spirit backbone. On the drier side with moderate length. Pleasant but lacks genuine honey character. 35.5% Alc./Vol.
