Produttori del Barbaresco
The Co-operative Produttori del Barbaresco which was founded in 1958, now boasts 51 members and controls more than 250 acres of premium Nebbiolo vineyards in Barbaresco. Each grape growing family is in full control of their land, growing Nebbiolo grapes with centuries old skill and dedication and if you look extra carefully, each family name is added to the labels of their respective regional wines.
Only in the greatest vintages are any of their nine single vineyard wines (Asili, Rabaja, Pora, Montestefano, Ovello, Paje, Montefico, Muncagota and Rio Sordo) produced, and will only be released after four years of aging and classified as Riserva. Two other wines are also produced; a Barbaresco D.O.C.G which is a blend of Nebbiolo harvested from different vineyards, and a much simpler Langhe Nebbiolo which is suited for earlier consumption.
The cohesion of their proud past and the tireless dedication of its creators have made Produttori del Barbaresco one of the greatest producers in a stunningly beautiful wine-producing area and it continues to set some of the highest standards of wine-making for any Co-operative in the world.
